Sweet 12lb little Beverly is more than a French Bulldog rescue. To me, she is a survivor, a symbol of second chances, and the newest member of the Pardon Thy French family.
Her journey began in Los Angeles, where she was exploited as a breeder dog. When Beverly developed a prolapsed uterus, she was discarded and left with little hope. Thankfully,
Northwest Dog Project and their rescue partners stepped in. She was rushed to an emergency vet, hospitalized for several days, and underwent lifesaving surgery. During that time, a mass on her leg was also removed, and though her medical records were incomplete, her resilience was clear.
(above is the first post we ever saw of Beverly, and it stole our hearts)
When she arrived in Oregon, Beverly received exams that revealed just how much her little body had endured. She has multiple spinal abnormalities, bowed femurs that make her knees turn outward, and very little muscle in her hind end. On top of that, she battled skin and ear issues that are so common in neglected dogs. And yet, through it all, she never stopped fighting. She never once showed defeat, only perseverance and heart.
Now home with us, with proper nutrition, veterinary care, and daily exercise, Beverly we will make sure this little girl is thriving. She hops joyfully across our farm with her sister Billie, also adopted from Northwest Dog Project, makes us laugh every single day with her quirky personality, and has already stolen hearts far beyond ours.
Beverly is not just a French Bulldog with a past. She is proof of resilience, healing, and hope. She is family. She is Beverly, and her story is just beginning :)
